Terra

Terra has been tattooing for about 25 years. It started when a friend who was already in the industry invited him in, and that friend later became his shop partner. He learned by being around experienced tattooers, getting tattooed by them, and digging deep into tattoo history and hard-to-find equipment. It all began in São Paulo, Brazil, where he and two friends opened New Wind Tattoo together. Years later, looking for a new shop and a fresh start, he found a home at Ink Addiction. For Terra, the learning never stops. There’s no end to it.

Japanese and traditional are his favorites, along with any cool design made to last, and he’s open to just about any style. The one thing he passes on is pretty baby portraits, and he’ll happily refer you to someone who does them. There’s no single dream project. What he’s really after is a genuine smile when the piece is done. In the chair, he keeps it simple: be present and have a solid good time, because that’s what it’s all about. Outside the shop, he’s playing drums, and when he’s not tattooing, he’s drawing.
